What's the Difference? A Life Partner Vs. A Soul Mate

jacqui holland ramón govea life partner soul mate destiny love romanceOver the past few days my boyfriend and I have escaped the bustle of daily life to the Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo. We are working on our new digital dating and relationship program, "How to Manifest a Loving Relationship." If you've never been to the Madonna Inn, it's pretty fantastic!  Each room has a different theme filled with fun, gawdy decor. I figured it would be the most appropriate place for us to work on this project.

Now, if I were to tell you that my relationship is perfect, it's safe to assume I'd be lying. Relationships are kinda like life: some days are simply blissful, phenomenal and amazing while others can be... quite difficult. But, this is how I gauge it; if you're happy with your partner at least 70% of the time or more, you're in a pretty good relationship. Yeah, of course there's gonna be that 30% when you wish certain qualities about your partner or your relationship would change, but for the most part you're great.

It's the relationships in which you're unhappy more than 50% of the time that you really need to be concerned and most likely should even cut ties to preserve your well being. Believe me, I've had my fair share of those relationships as well. That moment when you find yourself aggressively throwing cupcakes at your partner’s car, you may realize you’re not the right match.

So, a common question that people ask all the time is, “what is the difference between a soul mate and a life partner?” From my own experience and research I've found that as much as we want our “soul mate” to be "the one" they are usually only here in our lives for a period of time to teach us a lesson.

How Would You Know If You Met A Soul Mate?

love sex romance soul mate destiny life partner past livesDon’t get me wrong, a Soul Mate connection is huge! When you meet one you'll usually feel a very deep connection almost immediately. It may almost feel like you've known this person for years or even lifetimes. Many times there's also a very strong attraction towards each other. The purpose of a Soul Mate is to help you learn and you are also in their life to help them learn.

When you meet a Soul Mate you are at a point in your life when you are ready to learn. Now, most of the time the lesson isn't easy so you truly must be ready for this encounter. The idea that I ascribe to is that before you came to Earth you signed something we can call a “soul contract” with that other person. For instance. “we’re going to meet when we're in our late 20's and we're going to teach other true love."

Then, once the contract is fulfilled, the two of you part ways and that intense crazy relationship in your life is over. You may still remain friends and talk every so often or they may disappear and you never see them again. But, after your encounter you will now have a completely new perspective, or even a shift in values and incredible wisdom you can walk away with.

In this life, you can have many Soul Mates and soul contracts. There maybe one relationship that really stands out though. In my lifetime I have experienced at least 3 different soulmates who each taught me valuable lessons. Some were incredible life changing lessons.

So, What's A Life Partner?

love life soul mate destiny past lifeA Life Partner is a little different from a soulmate. Now there are some people who's life partners are actually a Soul Mates as well, but for the most part they are a different thing. A Life Partner you may not have that intense, emotion-driven, logic-defying attraction that makes you want to go to Vegas and marry each other after 2 dates of partying and having fun.

A Life Partner is the person you can truly share your life with. They are not in your life just to teach you lessons, although together you will learn many lessons. You are both in each other's lives to support each other through both the good times and bad. When the relationship is optimal, you help each other become the best version of yourselves you can possibly be. You most likely do have a spiritual contract with them, and in my opinion similar to a Soulmate, you may have had many past lives together. The idea is this person is in your life for the long haul. When you find this person it's important to support and hold on to them by treating them as well as you possibly can. In many cases we must first go through any Soulmates, in order to learn the lessons that eventually bring in our life partners.

So, I wish you all the best of luck with all of your romantic endeavors. I can't wait to share the new program iDeserveLove with all of you. It’s designed to help anyone to find the Life Partner you’ve been looking for and teach them how to nurture a healthy lasting relationship once you've found them.
